Challenges come to us in many ways these days, not least the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, of which Europe is now at the centre of.

The Church Board met on Tuesday 17th March to discuss plans as we navigate this challenge. Safeguarding the welfare of our brothers and sisters in Christ is our highest priority, and the measures outlined here have been carefully and prayerfully decided as the best and only route forward.

After taking advice from Nazarene Church headquarters, other denominations and our own Government, we have been left with no alternative but to suspend all public operations, events and services until further notice.

In order to bridge the sizeable gap these measures will leave in our regular ministry, we are looking to implement the following intermediate measures as soon as possible:

We aim to provide weekly digital and online services for Brooklands Church starting Sunday 22nd March (Mothering Sunday). The services will vary from week to week and be available via our digital platforms from 10.30am each Sunday morning.

We also look to provide more virtual content throughout each week, so please regularly refer to our Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and website to remain up to date on everything the Church is doing during this time.

Pastorally, we will strive to meet the needs of as many people as we can. We will be in direct contact with as many members and friends as possible. Each person is an important part of our Church and we will ask how we can pray for one another.

Please pray for God’s wisdom through this journey. God’s people have had to make many strange journeys. The Psalmist once recorded this lament, ‘How can we sing the Lord’s Song in a strange land?’ (Psalm 137:4).

If we have your email address or mobile number, you will receive further communication including direct links to our virtual Church Services. Where the devil has tried to rob us, the Lord has made a way. Please pray for us and all those in need at this time.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our plans, how to access any of our new digital services or about any community or personal needs, please contact us.

Blessings to all…

Pastor Karl Stanfield
