Our Beliefs

These are the beliefs that we hold to be true. They are also shared by many Christians across the world.

God

Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Corinthians 13:14

We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Spirit.

Jesus

Matthew 1:20-25, Matthew 16:15-16; John 1:1-19

We believe in Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man at the same time, who became like us to introduce the new reign of God in the world and make amends for the sins of the world.

The Holy Spirit

John 14:15-18, John 16:7-15; Romans 8:1-17

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is active in the world, bringing us to salvation.

The Bible

2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by divine direction, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

Sinfulness

Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12-14, Romans 6:15-21

We believe that we are all sinners by both nature and act and need God’s forgiveness and cleansing.

New Life in Christ

Isaiah 53:5-6; John 3:14-17 / Genesis 2:16-17; John 1:12; Galatians 6:7-8 / Isaiah 55:6-7; Acts 17:30-31 / Isaiah 55:6-7; Acts 17:30-31 / Acts 13:39; Titus 3:4-7; Galatians 4:4-7 / Matthew 3:11, Matthew 22:37-40; 1 John 4:17-18

We believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross and that, by trusting in His death, we can be restored in a right relation to God.

We believe that God has enabled us to turn to Him from sin but that He has not forced us to do so.

We believe that each person must repent, turn away from their sins, and trust Christ to accept Him.

We believe that when we turn from sin and trust in Christ, the old record of sin is wiped clean, and we are born anew, thus becoming part of the family of God.

We believe that after being born anew, we need the fullness of God’s Spirit in our hearts. When we make a complete commitment to Him, He cleanses our spirit, fills us with His perfect love, and gives us the power to live victoriously.

The Church

1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Ephesians 5:25-27

We believe that the Church is the active Body of Christ in the world today. It is called together by the Holy Spirit, through the Word, for the purpose of fulfilling God’s plan for the world until Christ returns.

Baptism

Matthew 26:16-20; Acts 2:37-4

We believe in baptism and encourage believers to be baptised as Christians.

Communion

Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32

We believe in the Lord’s supper and share in it together regularly.

Healing

2 Corinthians 12:7-10; James 5:13-16

We believe God can and does heal. We pray for healing. We also believe that God can and does work through medical science.

The Future

John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 / Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:11-15

We believe that Jesus is coming again.

We believe that everyone will face the judgment of God with its rewards and punishments.
