This week Pastor Mick will be speaking from the second chapter of the Book of James, on the topics of favouritism, celebrity culture, and rich and poor.
And although these things might seem like peripheral topics, don’t be fooled!
We are reminded in the text itself that to show favouritism goes against the ‘greatest commandment’ to “Love your neighbour as yourself” (verses 8 and 9).
We’ll be considering what this means for us personally and as a church, and how the whole message is captured in the action of sharing around the Lord’s Table in Holy Communion.
